Forward-looking control concepts for modern buildings, intelligent networked energy systems and security solutions for information technologies are examples of the topics that the employees of Forschung Burgenland play a decisive role in developing together with Burgenland University of Applied Sciences.
To this end, Forschung Burgenland operates 2 research centres in which trends and new research concepts are developed and refined:
- Centre for Building Technology
- Centre for Energy Transition
Research takes place at our two locations in Eisenstadt and Pinkafeld. At the university itself, we conduct research along the Energy & Environment, Business, Information Technology, Social Affairs and Health study programmes.

Our strategy
We want to contribute to improving life through our research and developments. We do this in our core fields of energy and the environment, building technology and cyber security. We want to do this to a greater extent in the coming years and we want to share the knowledge we have gained with the world.
As an integrating partner, we network stakeholders from business, science and society in order to conduct practical and interdisciplinary research together with them. With our innovations, we create social benefits and economic dynamism. We are not only a driving force for the region, but also strive to achieve a leading position in selected areas both nationally and internationally.
We are not alone in all of this. We are pleased to have strong partners. First and foremost Forschung Austria.
Forschung Burgenland is also an associate member of the Austrian Cooperative Research ACR. This umbrella organisation unites research-oriented SMEs in Austria.
