Forward-looking control concepts for modern buildings, intelligent interconnected energy systems, and IT security solutions are examples of the topics that the staff of Forschung Burgenland, together with the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland, actively help to develop.

To support this, Forschung Burgenland operates two research centers, where trends and new research concepts are explored and further developed:

  • Center for Building Technology

  • Center for Energy Transition

Forschung Burgenland conducts research at its locations in Eisenstadt, Pinkafeld, and Güssing, focusing on the advancement of current trends and innovative research concepts.

At the Eisenstadt and Pinkafeld sites, research is carried out in close cooperation with the university along the degree programs in Energy & Environment, Business, Information Technology, as well as Social Work & Health.

At the Güssing site, the thematic and competency focus is on the energy supply of the future and renewable energies, particularly in the area of energy storage.

Our strategy

We want to contribute to improving life through our research and developments. We do this in our core fields of energy and the environment, building technology and cyber security. We want to do this to a greater extent in the coming years and we want to share the knowledge we have gained with the world.

As an integrating partner, we network stakeholders from business, science and society in order to conduct practical and interdisciplinary research together with them. With our innovations, we create social benefits and economic dynamism. We are not only a driving force for the region, but also strive to achieve a leading position in selected areas both nationally and internationally.

We are not alone in all of this. We are pleased to have strong partners. First and foremost Forschung Austria.

Forschung Burgenland is also an associate member of the Austrian Cooperative Research ACR. This umbrella organisation unites research-oriented SMEs in Austria.
