The 10th International Summer School on Sustainable Buildings for Europe (24 September – 3 October 2025) at Burgenland University of Applied Sciences offers students and lecturers from Central and Eastern Europe a practical, interdisciplinary learning platform in the field of sustainable construction. The programme focuses on renewable energy systems, energy-efficient building services engineering and the ecological assessment of energy systems.

The programme combines specialist lectures, laboratory exercises, excursions and project-based work in international teams. Participants develop innovative building concepts and receive ECTS-recognised credits assessed by a panel of experts.

The contributions of new and long-standing partner institutions, including universities from Slovakia, Hungary and Slovenia, were particularly valuable in 2025. The diverse academic backgrounds – ranging from architecture and building services engineering to electrical engineering – led to an intensive exchange of ideas and high-quality project outcomes.

The Summer School not only strengthens international cooperation but also promotes the further development of the partner network. With its practice-oriented, intercultural approach, it makes a significant contribution to the training of future professionals in sustainable construction.
