Update to the Burgenland Climate and Energy Strategy 2030

As part of the project, the existing Excel calculation tool for energy and emissions accounting in Burgenland is being comprehensively updated and further developed. The tool’s structure is based on the energy balances published by Statistics Austria, as well as on the CO₂ equivalents and reports from the Federal Environment Agency, and serves as the central basis for the ongoing monitoring of the Burgenland provincial government’s climate and energy strategy.

The update covers the years 2020 to 2023 and includes the integration of current energy data and emission factors, the adaptation of the calculation logic to new methodological and political frameworks, and the expansion of the presentation of results.

In future, trends in energy consumption and emissions will be visualised and comparisons with strategic targets will be made possible, enabling progress to be assessed more transparently.
