Development of digital competences in the field of building technology and simulation based on BIM

Gebäudetechnik

Due to the high energy optimisation potential of buildings, this is associated with increasing requirements in terms of sustainability, energy efficiency and energy flexibility. The use of digital methods in the planning, construction and operation of technical building systems plays a key role here. In particular, the Building Information Modelling (BIM) working method is considered to have great potential for use.

However, the level of maturity and implementation in practical application remains far below the industry's expectations. The current training and further education programmes in the field of BIM are primarily limited to the traditional areas of civil engineering and architecture. The application of BIM-integrated analysis and simulation tools is barely addressed, which means that the potential of BIM (holistic optimisation of building services engineering system concepts) is often not fully exploited in practice. The aim of this innovation camp is to impart the necessary knowledge and skills using BIM-integrated simulation methods in order to be able to plan, construct and operate sustainable, technical building system solutions cost-efficiently. All relevant stakeholders (architects, planners, builders, etc.) are synergistically involved in the project in order to cover all life cycle phases of a building in the best possible way. The methodological and didactic realisation of the teaching content is based on the T-profile method, which is applied and further developed in this project. The BIM method is used as a pedagogical tool for teaching and learning in order to promote interdisciplinary collaboration between individual specialist disciplines.
