Training in the field of acoustics for technical building systems

Energie & Umwelt

In the Bösch Acoustics project, staff are being trained in the field of acoustics in technical building systems in order to provide them with the necessary basic knowledge to be able to predict sound propagation and counteract noise pollution as early as possible in the planning phase.

Contract research

The operation of technical building systems, such as air conditioning systems or heat pumps, often causes noise nuisance to users or neighbours. In order to minimise and assess this noise pollution, a technical understanding of the acoustic principles is required.

As part of the project, a staff training course was held focussing on the fundamentals of sound generation, propagation and impact. Methods for calculating free and disturbed sound propagation were taught, enabling an assessment to be made as early as the planning phase. This was rounded off with examples from the fields of room and building acoustics as well as acoustics in ventilation and air conditioning systems.
