As part of the project, which consisted of two modules, the childminder services in the context of childcare services and the specific support services for parents/families in particularly challenging childcare situations in Burgenland were evaluated and needs assessed.
Module 1: The childcare services offered by childminders in Burgenland were evaluated with regard to the existing services and their administrative and content-related implementation. A needs analysis based on this, which was carried out in an empirical research process with professionals in family-related work and with users of the existing childcare services provided by childminders, revealed the areas of tension between supply and demand, needs and existential requirements. Suggestions for optimising the childcare concept through childminders from the evaluation as well as recommendations for further conceptualisation that can be derived from this were summarised in conclusion.
Module 2: The life situations of parents/families with particularly challenging care situations were analysed in relation to children living together in the household in Burgenland. These are, for example, parents of children with disabilities, autism spectrum disorders or developmental delays as well as socially disadvantaged groups or groups at risk of exclusion. Available services in the areas of health, education and child and youth welfare were analysed in the course of qualitative interviews - including with representatives of psychosocial counselling and care facilities - with regard to their compatibility with needs and requirements.
