CREDIT4CE - Carbon Reduction & Innovative Transformation

The European Climate Law enshrines in law the goal of a climate-neutral European economy and society by 2050 as set out in the European Green Deal. The law also sets the interim target of reducing net greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030 compared to 1990 levels. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which are responsible for almost two thirds (63%) of total emissions in the EU, play an important role in this context.

The Interreg Central Europe project CREDIT4CE addresses this aspect and has set itself the goal of supporting SMEs in the manufacturing sector in the Central European (CE) region in the process of decarbonisation. The aim is to contribute to achieving the EU's ambitious short and long-term climate targets.

The CREDIT4CE consortium consists of ten core partners from six CE countries who are creating a platform via a decarbonisation hub that brings together SMEs seeking support on their path to decarbonisation with companies offering solutions for this task. Both the supply and demand side will be served by a range of customised services. In addition, the consortium aims to accelerate the process of decarbonisation by also addressing the areas of research commercialisation, technology transfer and innovation promotion. To this end, the establishment of start-ups in the field of "green technologies" and the commercialisation of research results will be supported through targeted measures.

The CREDIT4CE project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund as part of the Interreg Central Europe programme.

Targeted measures will also support the creation of green-tech start-ups and the commercialisation of research outcomes, further driving the transition to a low-carbon economy.
