Regions, sector authorities and research organisations from Austria, Germany, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Croatia and Italy need to improve resilience to the impacts of climate change on rural and urban areas through more effective and accurate forecasting. To achieve this goal, more reliable climate change plans require the availability and analysis of data at a cross-border level based on common classification criteria and standards.
For this reason, the Climate_CRICES partners mentioned above are working together to define a common strategy with the main topics to be analysed, define criteria for the use of this data and implement a data-driven dashboard that can improve resilience to climate change impacts and improve knowledge and management capabilities for this using projections.
The available environmental and weather data will be analysed and visualised, providing more information for more accurate climate change projections for the regional urban development plans for rural and urban areas. The data-driven dashboard will also be tested by policy makers to assess their ability to better predict climate change impacts and verify the added value for the regional climate management plans. The data-driven tool will be used during the project to produce analyses based on data available on the PP's own platforms, while a landing page will ensure a Central European cross-border perspective and forecast.
Regional authorities and policy makers will be able to increase their knowledge and skills to manage climate adaptation plans through capacity building activities and data utilisation during the three years of cooperation and continue to use them after the project is completed.
