Project running time

01/09/2019 - 30/09/2022

The cross-provincial DIHOST consortium of six RTDI institutions from Lower Austria, Vienna and Burgenland (ecoplus. Niederösterreichs Wirtschaftsagentur GmbH (lead partner), FOTEC, St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences, IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems, ABC - Austrian Blockchain Centre and Forschung Burgenland) has set itself the goal of increasing the transformation capability and transformation speed of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Eastern Austria in the direction of digital innovations.

The DIHOST concept is based on a differentiated programme with three technological focus areas:

  1. 3D printing
  2. Blockchain & IT Security
  3. IOT, sensor technology & connectivity, supplemented by services in the "Cross-sectional Start" or under "Cross-sectional topics & special applications", with a primary focus on the initiation and implementation of specific digital innovation projects in SMEs.

As a central networking tool, all DIHOST digital centres and targeted small and medium-sized enterprises can access the "Virtual House of Digitalisation" of the Lower Austrian Digitalisation Offensive (outside the project), which offers crowd-based open innovation activities that will be used in DIHOST, in addition to numerous other services.

The support of the Economic Chambers of Lower Austria, Vienna, Burgenland and Upper Austria (outside of the project) will ensure that all regional small and medium-sized enterprises are addressed nationwide when advertising the DIHOST services.
