Usability studies for EVN applications using eye-tracking

Energie & Umwelt

Eye tracking is used to objectively track the eye movements of test subjects. The eye movements can then be evaluated and analysed in order to derive recommendations for action. The eye-tracking method can be used to analyse and optimise smartphone apps, websites, prototypes and other marketing stimuli. In addition to the eye-tracking method, interviews or verbal protocols (e.g. the think-aloud method) are used, depending on the individual case, in order to be able to interpret the gaze data more precisely.

In the course of this framework contract, usability studies on selected websites, apps and prototypes in the areas of energy industry and home energy management are carried out for the client EVN using eye-tracking. This will identify potential for optimisation, which should result in positive energy-related and economic effects in the medium and long term.
