In order to achieve national targets to increase the share of renewable energy, the Central Europe regions have the common challenge to continue investing in relevant technologies and also to accelerate financing for the sustainable implementation of concrete measures. The main objective of FIRECE is to increase the capacity of regional stakeholders and companies to implement energy plans. The focus here is on the development / establishment of innovative financial instruments (IFIs) that can act as a lever to access existing public resources (approx. EUR 180 million from ERDF funds). The most important project outputs are therefore the development of a transnational strategy for the implementation and realisation of financing systems to assess and evaluate public investments, the exchange of knowledge between regional institutions/operators who organise appropriate training, the development of a methodology for the optimal use of existing financial resources and a tool for evaluating the quality of investments. Appropriate pilot actions will also be carried out as part of the project.
