Simulation is an important tool in the planning of construction projects to support the decision-making process in various project life cycle phases. A major challenge here is the reliability of the simulation results, which in practice can lead to large deviations from real data, as well as the availability of relevant parameters in digital building models. The aim of this project is to carry out a holistic building simulation based on a BIM model. A digital building twin is created in which data from the BIM model and real measurement data are stored. The data from the digital building twin is transferred to the SIMULTAN simulation programme via a cross-software interface and the calculation results of the developed simulation algorithms are validated using the digital building twin. Furthermore, the interdisciplinary data exchange based on BIM is analysed and improved using various data transfer processes with SIMULTAN. The focus is on the simulation of user behaviour, building physics, structural calculations and building services simulation.
