Against female poverty in Burgenland - career and life prospects for women in Burgenland

Many initiatives taken by women remain hidden or are handled informally. Labour market policy is often male-oriented, women disappear behind part-time employment relationships.

The current awareness and understanding of career opportunities for women in Burgenland is analysed and possible barriers to gainful employment are identified. The focus is on taking into account the regional specifics of Burgenland so that the different structures and conditions can be incorporated into the presentation of results and recommendations.

Based on a secondary data analysis, an online survey will be conducted in which various aspects of the "career and life prospects for women in Burgenland" will be recorded. Based on this, several focus groups will be held with regional experts for in-depth discussion, whereby specific regional opportunities and needs will be identified. For the development of further strategic implementation steps, the expert knowledge is combined with local knowledge in order to derive customised further steps for the regions to reduce women's poverty in Burgenland. The project pursues the approach of stimulating networking and creating appropriate conditions by focusing on framework conditions in order to identify and realise regional potential in terms of career opportunities and to reach more women in the medium term. The groundwork and networking activities represent an innovative approach, as existing resources can be identified and sustainably expanded in this way. In close cooperation with various stakeholders - such as multipliers in the field of career guidance, employees of women's advice centres or regional companies and other networks - a specific network against female poverty in Burgenland will be established during the project period.
