The "Green Sentry" project aims to find innovative solutions to the climate-related challenges facing the Seewinkel region, in particular drought and water scarcity. Advanced sensor technology, data analysis and renewable energies are being used to create a basis for sustainable water management and resource optimisation. The aim is to reduce dependence on diesel-powered irrigation systems by using solar modules and alternative energy solutions for large-scale irrigation systems. These technologies enable precise control and monitoring of water abstraction and consumption in the region, which increases efficiency and reduces costs. At the same time, water-saving products are being tested that help to further reduce water consumption and secure crop yields despite drought.

"Green Sentry" actively contributes to the regional energy transition and promotes the climate resilience of agriculture in the Seewinkel region through sustainable solutions. The project uses digital innovations such as IoT, AI and remote sensing to create a basis for future developments and raise awareness of resource-saving technologies. The data and experience gained will benefit both local farmers and scientific circles and should serve as a model for other regions facing similar challenges.
