The GreenHealthLearning project aims to strengthen health-related climate literacy and awareness among healthcare professionals through a digital learning tool. To this end, a modular training concept is being developed, tested and evaluated using the hybrid web app Ovos play. Short, interactive learning units teach healthcare professionals the basic principles of the climate system and the interactions between climate and health. In addition to theoretical principles, the focus is on concrete recommendations for action and practical examples for integrating appropriate behaviour into everyday (professional) life.
The development and testing takes place in three phases:
- Development and preparation of the modular training concept on the basis of (inter)national framework concepts and with the involvement of the Green Team of the Villach Regional Hospital (LKH) in the course of co-creation workshops.
- Piloting of content usability with test users incl. user feedback sessions and revision phase.
- Experimental testing with all healthcare professions at Villach LKH, including validation of effectiveness and acceptance.
With its innovative and interactive approach, the project not only increases the health-related climate competence of healthcare professionals, but also contributes to a climate-neutral healthcare system in the long term by raising awareness and sensitisation and promoting climate-friendly behaviour.
