As part of a project, an innovative long-term monitoring system is being developed for the historic Haydnsaal in Esterházy Palace in Eisenstadt, which works in accordance with the strict conditions of monument protection and does not require any structural interventions. The aim is to optimise room comfort using data-based strategies. A key aspect of the project is the development of a non-invasive sensor network based on innovative IoT and semiconductor sensor technology. The sensors are equipped with a self-sufficient energy supply, enable wireless communication and record a variety of parameters. To realise complex measurement tasks, the sensors are installed in the attic. The recorded data is collected and processed centrally and can be integrated into a building management system via standardised interfaces. Scientific support is provided in the form of workshops in which the results of the building technology are analysed and improvement scenarios are discussed. AI methods such as cluster analyses are used to identify correlations between environmental conditions, user behaviour and room comfort. Technical concepts are developed on the basis of the data obtained, taking into account the restrictions of monument protection.
