These challenges can only be overcome through a structured, systematic approach.
The Interreg AT-HU project "IMPROVE!" is dedicated to this topic and aims to support small and medium-sized enterprises in the Austria/Hungary border region with their digitalisation projects. The aim is to connect organisations on both sides of the border that are committed to digital change.
This should enable an exchange of knowledge and cross-border interaction between the various organisations.
The project focuses on the following activities:
- In the first step of the project, the project consortium will develop a joint service portfolio of competences in which SMEs can be supported in the field of digitalisation within the project.
- Furthermore, a joint methodology for measuring the technological maturity and digital potential of companies will be developed. This methodology will be used to assess companies in terms of their digitalisation status and advise them on digitalisation potential.
- In the third stage of the project, companies can apply to implement specific digitalisation projects with the support of the project consortium. In addition, the pilot projects will be documented in a case study catalogue so that other companies in the programme area can also benefit from the newly acquired expertise.
- Finally, the digitalisation network that has already been created will be expanded and internationalised through the involvement of specialist political players at various levels.
