Internationalisation of regional economies in the SI-AT cross-border region
EconomyStudies show that internationally active companies create more jobs and are more innovative than locally active companies. In the last programme period, cooperation and coordination between companies and institutions in the CBC region was very dynamic. Therefore, this potential should also be used, improved and tested for the internationalisation of SMEs.
The main objective of the project is to increase the number of SMEs engaged in international markets in the CBC region. Most SMEs lack knowledge, information and support in the internationalisation process. They are also risk-averse and uncertain due to their limited resources. This initial situation is addressed in the project with the following measures: 20 SMEs are supported in internationalisation in German and English-speaking markets and 2 SMEs (project partners) in testing new products on international markets. A joint CBC coaching system, a strategy and action plan, tools and services to support SMEs in their internationalisation and export plans will be developed. Various forms of B2B events will also help to prepare SMEs for international activities.
The innovation of the project approach will accelerate the development of the common CBC coaching system, which will enable the use of shared contacts, networks, knowledge and tools. The common system will enable the identification of common strategic opportunities, the development of CBC value creation partnerships and clusters, which is of great importance for the successful internationalisation of SMEs in the CBC region.
