KLAR! Rosalia-Kogelberg (Phase 2)

The multi-stage programme "KLAR! Climate Change Adaptation Model Regions" programme of the Climate and Energy Fund supports Austrian regions and municipalities in preparing for the consequences of climate change. The current 79 Austrian KLAR! regions include the model region "KLAR! Rosalia-Kogelberg" model region. The Burgenland municipalities of Forchtenstein, Mattersburg, Rohrbach, Draßburg, Sigleß and Pöttelsdorf have joined forces to tackle the regional challenges of climate change. It is to be expected that the region will be affected by heavy rainfall events as well as longer periods of drought and heat.

Following a positive evaluation of the adaptation concept, the following twelve measures to adapt to climate change are now being implemented in the region:

2. Climate-friendly soils - promoting water absorption and storage
3. Building and renovating - make your house climate-ready
4. Fruit tree planting campaign and preservation of orchards
5. Water awareness - conserving water resources
6. Blackout prevention
7. My garden in a changing climate
8. Adapted lifestyle - fit and healthy in the climate of the future
9. Forests for the future - forest reorganisation in a changing climate
10. Forest fire prevention
11. KLAR! goes to school
12. KLAR! climate days
