Long Night of Research 2026

Research & Innovation

The Long Night of Research on 24 April 2026 brings science to life in Burgenland. Numerous stations offer experiments, guided tours and workshops for young and old alike, showcasing the diversity of research and innovation.

The “Long Night of Research” is Austria’s largest event for science and innovation and takes place every two years. On Friday, 24 April 2026, numerous institutions from the worlds of research, education and business in Burgenland will open their doors and offer fascinating insights into their work. Visitors can experience research up close for a single evening with free admission – through experiments, demonstrations, workshops, guided tours and personal discussions with experts.

The event is aimed at people of all ages and invites them to discover new things and get actively involved. A particular focus is on inspiring children and young people to take an interest in science and technology.

To ensure the wide range of activities is clearly accessible, the programme items are coordinated, organised and promoted by Forschung Burgenland.

With a wide-ranging programme covering digitalisation, energy, the environment, technology and society, the innovative strength of Burgenland comes to life and the dialogue between science and the public is strengthened.
