Passport to Export

Overall project objective: Passport to Export promotes an increase in the number of internationalised SMEs in the cross-border Interreg SI-AT programme area.

It focusses on technology and innovation-oriented companies in order to motivate them to export to international growth and export markets. Switzerland and northern Italy are identified as target markets for transnational co-operation structures and mechanisms. In the project, regionally established partner organisations such as Innovation-Development-Marketing Südtirol, Landesgesellschaft für Technologienetzwerke und Export, AFIL Lombardia and Technopark Zürich will contribute market knowledge and export know-how as cooperation partners.

Main result of the project:

• To support at least 24 companies for internationalisation in the northern Italian and Swiss markets;
• to place the products and services of the 2 SI-AT partner companies on both markets;
• to develop, test and establish a permanently usable working structure (co-operation matrix) together with the strategic partners from Lombardy, Emilia Romagna, Veneto, South Tyrol and Switzerland (4 cantons).

The support measures for this are created by the diagnostic tool and the training courses, which are permanently anchored at the educational partners (FH Burgenland, Masaryk University). The customised adaptation of internationalisation activities in the partner network also serves to ensure long-term and sustainable success.

Scientific key reseachers from the Department of Economics at Burgenland University of Applied Sciences will be involved in all work packages in the SIAT project consortium. In particular, they will develop, test and evaluate an internationalisation transfer concept for Styrian SMEs in southern Burgenland in the target markets of northern Italy and Switzerland.
