SMART CIRCUIT: enabling SMARTer, CIRCUlar digITal innovation hubs to enhance Central Europe's manufacturing eco-system towards a greener & more competitive future.

Energie & Umwelt

A cycle combines circular and digital paradigms. This is a crucial aspect to "close the loop" and enable digital transformation. SMART CIRCUIT builds on creating a connected network of DIHs that introduce and adopt digital & technology-driven circular economy into the ecosystem.

The growth of the manufacturing industry in Central Europe (CE) is characterised by high resource consumption, waste and emissions. Especially in selected value chains such as electronics, construction and textiles. The circular economy is key to solving this problem and closing important value loops is crucial. But there are still gaps.

The aim of SMART CIRCUIT is to foster the adoption of digital and technology-driven circular economy in CE manufacturing by generating accelerated adoption of circular economy through a connected network of Digital Innovation Hubs (DIHs) & test/rollout of multi-stakeholder solutions to enable a resource-efficient and competitive transition.

SMART CIRCUIT addresses this interface digitally, across territories and across strategies to analyse competitive gaps and promote the role of Digital Innovation Hubs (DIHs) as a proven tool for digital transformation and specialised/competitive strategies. To support the important multi-stakeholder ecosystem behind the production value chains, Moodle courses will be developed for interested parties in Research Burgenland, among others, to ultimately contribute to closing the loop and creating more resource-efficient and competitive economic growth.
