The "Energy 4 all Dimensions" project aims to realise the full potential of energy communities. In contrast to previous EEGs, which focus primarily on the electricity aspect, this project aims to take all aspects of the energy system into account. This includes the electricity, heat and renewable gas sectors as well as the utilisation of storage and flexibility. The project emphasises technical, economic, legal and participatory aspects.
In this context, the consortium is addressing four key questions. Firstly, which tariff systems are suitable for creating incentives in all dimensions? Secondly, what regulatory hurdles and opportunities exist in the implementation of multidimensional EEGs? Thirdly, what are the advantages for the energy sectors other than electricity when setting up multidimensional EEGs? And fourthly, can such an EEG contribute to increasing security of supply?
The project aims to develop holistic concepts for multidimensional energy communities in co-operation with experts from the disciplines of energy technology, economics, energy law and energy acceptance and participation. The intended results of the project also include proposals for flexible tariff systems that create the necessary incentives for all dimensions, the identification of legal barriers and the determination of benefits for all energy sectors as well as the influence on the security of supply in EEGs.
