01/06/2016 - 31/05/2019

URBAN INNO - "Utilizing innovation potential of urban ecosystems" is a project co-funded by the Interreg Central Europe Programme. It addresses the challenge of making Central Europe more innovative and competitive by maximising the innovation potential of small and medium-sized urban ecosystems. Significantly better networking of actors in urban ecosystems is needed to better utilise these innovation potentials.

URBAN INNO establishes Quadruple Helix clusters/networks in the partner regions and develops and implements new participatory methods and tools to involve end users in the innovation process, with the aim of having educated and motivated users - SMART USERS - and maximising the innovation potential of urban ecosystems through them. Five new Quadruple Helix networks will be established in partner regions, six regional/urban innovation plans, new participatory methods and tools will be developed and tested in nine pilot projects implemented in partner regions.

Project activities:

- Establishment of the urban innovative quadruple helix clusters/networks in the target regions.

- Development of a toolbox of smart participatory methods

- Implementation and evaluation of smart participatory methods in urban innovation processes (pilot projects)

- Development of a transnational urban innovation co-operation strategy
