The aim of the Wind Marketing in Burgenland project is to develop a region in which electricity generation from wind power paves the way for an environmentally friendly energy supply in the future. Business models and areas of application for wind power generation are to be developed in the region with the help of system flexibilities, which should have a strong showcase character. The development of new business models should result in an improvement in the economic viability of wind power plants after the subsidisation is discontinued. This should subsequently serve as an incentive for the further expansion of renewable energy generation.

 

Methodology

  • Data collection of the current situation regarding wind power generation in Burgenland: The data analysis should provide information about necessary system flexibilities (storage, DSM, P2H, P2C, etc.).
  • Development of areas of application: Definition of business areas for future wind marketing.
  • Business model development and determination of required flexibilities: Derivation of business models taking into account technical, economic and legal framework conditions as well as necessary flexibility.
  • Involvement of stakeholders: Implementation of participation measures with affected stakeholders and to enable reflection and adaptation of the business models.
  • Creation of a roadmap for feasibility within a follow-up project.
