The event was organised by the Zasavje Regional Development Agency (RRAZ) in collaboration with the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Energy and the National Chemical Institute of Slovenia as part of the Interreg SI-AT project H2GreenFUTURE.
The Austrian partners also played an active role in the event, presenting their achievements and plans in the field of cross-border development of hydrogen technologies. Christian Seidl and Nora Kirchknopf from Forschung Burgenland outlined the challenges and opportunities arising from the H2GreenFUTURE pilot project ‘H2 Green Energy Demonstrator’. Claudia Cernohuby-Wallner from Wien Energie presented the Austrian project “H2REAL – Connecting Regions with Hydrogen”, whilst Margherita Matzer from the organisation WIVA P&G outlined their path towards Austria’s first hydrogen valley.
The forum emphasised the importance of a clear legal framework and the role of the regions in developing carbon-free technologies and creating new opportunities for the green economy. The project partners worked actively together during this event to address the challenges involved in the development of hydrogen technologies in Slovenia and Austria.
