Brief description of the project

The aim of the project is to increase the health literacy of young people from non-privileged socio-economic backgrounds in order to prepare them adequately for entering the labour market. Furthermore, the project includes preventative activities against the risk of poverty through unemployment. Social integration through activities in the areas of sport, culture, conscious nutrition and experiencing nature in the setting of the children's and youth centre "Verein Soziales Wohnhaus Neunkirchen" is intended to promote health, activity and autonomy, whereby a holistic and participatory approach and access to the target group is chosen. This also harbours potential for health promotion, as healthy lifestyles are oriented towards the immediate environment and exclusion has a demonstrably negative effect on psychosocial health.

Objective of the evaluation

With the help of the external evaluation, funding bodies and project partners can prove that a health-promoting project has been implemented and that the funding has been invested sustainably. The evaluation provides information on the effectiveness and efficiency of the use of the funding and the impact orientation with regard to social participation and health promotion in the achievement of objectives and adaptation to the target group.

As part of the process evaluation in close cooperation with the project team, the project structures and the quality of the measures are optimised during the course of the project.
