The project is based on the mixed methods approach, social justice and participation.
The target group of the project are students, teachers and administrative and service staff at universities/colleges. Social minorities, people in different positions at the universities/colleges and other external partners such as private companies, public institutions, associations etc. as well as local, national and European authorities are involved as multipliers.
Aims of the project:
- Strengthen the teams, networks and units at the universities/colleges responsible for gender equality issues through structural reforms, improved work processes and the involvement of key stakeholders for the prevention of sexual harassment
- Promoting mutual learning and the exchange of good practices for identifying and addressing sexual harassment at universities/colleges among different target groups
- Raising social awareness of the importance of rejecting all forms of sexual harassment and of the need to contribute to the prevention of sexual harassment among university staff
- Improving the skills and capacities of professionals and the availability of tools and resources to address and follow up on sexual harassment
- Reduce risk factors for exposure to sexual harassment at different relationship levels (interpersonal, institutional and social) for different target groups at universities/colleges, including social minorities
- Minimising the impact that sexual harassment can have on victims
- Contributing to the recognition of universities/colleges as active players in the prevention and management of this problem
- Addressing and preventing sexual harassment at universities/colleges as a priority issue of gender equality promotion
Procedure:
In order to achieve the project objectives, a large-scale, long-term action programme will be designed, implemented and evaluated at various levels of prevention (primary, secondary and tertiary) and implementation (interpersonal, social and institutional). Accordingly, the mixed methods approach comprises the following different phases:
1st PHASE: Implementation of the initial, cross-national mixed-methods study (WP2)
2nd PHASE: Design and implementation of prevention strategies (WP3, WP4, WP5)
- Universal interventions (primary): Target groups or the general population without regard to individual risk
- Selective interventions (secondary): Target group are individuals with a higher risk of becoming victims of sexual harassment.
- Indicated interventions (tertiary): Target group are cases of sexual harassment (victims and perpetrators).
PHASE 3: Qualitative and quantitative evaluation of the impact of the interventions (WP6)
Work packages:
Work package 1 (WP 1): Project management, coordination and quality assurance
Main objectives:
- Carry out all activities related to the general management and coordination of the project
- Monitoring of all activities that overlap with the other work packages

Work package 2 (WP 2): initial investigation, exchange of good practices and evaluation tools
Main objectives:

- Promoting mutual learning and the exchange of good practices for identifying and addressing sexual harassment at universities/colleges among different target groups

Work package 3 (WP 3): Implementation and evaluation of the primary strategies
Main objectives:
- Strengthen university/college teams, networks and units responsible for gender equality issues through structural reforms, improved work processes and the involvement of key stakeholders for the prevention of sexual harassment
- Increasing social awareness of the importance of rejecting all forms of sexual harassment and of the need to contribute to the prevention of sexual harassment among university employees
- Reducing the risk factors for exposure to sexual harassment at different relationship levels (interpersonal, institutional and social) for different target groups at universities/colleges, including social minorities
- Contributing to the recognition of universities/colleges as active players in preventing and addressing this problem
- Addressing and preventing sexual harassment at universities/colleges as a priority issue of gender equality promotion

T3.3. Workshops with a gender-transformative and intersectional approach

Work package 4 (WP 4 or WP 4): Implementation and evaluation of secondary strategies
Main objectives:
- Strengthen university/college teams, networks and units responsible for gender equality issues through structural reforms, improved work processes and the involvement of key stakeholders for the prevention of sexual harassment
- Increasing social awareness of the importance of rejecting all forms of sexual harassment and of the need to contribute to the prevention of sexual harassment among university members
- Improving the skills and capacities of professionals and the availability of tools and resources to address and follow up on sexual harassment
- Reduce risk factors for exposure to sexual harassment at different relationship levels (interpersonal, institutional and social) for different target groups at universities/colleges, including social minorities

T4.2. workshop programme to promote active bystanders (in relation to sexual harassment)

Work package 5 (WP 5 or WP 5): Implementation and evaluation of tertiary strategies

- Strengthen university/college teams, networks and units responsible for gender equality issues through structural reforms, improved work processes and the involvement of key stakeholders for the prevention of sexual harassment
- Increasing social awareness of the importance of rejecting all forms of sexual harassment and of the need to contribute to the prevention of sexual harassment among university members
- Improving the skills and capacity of professionals and the availability of tools and resources to address and follow up on sexual harassment
- Minimising the impact that sexual harassment can have on victims
